Dr. Marissa Roberts
Dr. Marissa Roberts is a Health Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where she serves as an evaluator and lead of her team’s Community Partnerships Unit. She leads cross-collaborative evaluation projects, develops resources to increase internal and external evaluation capacity, and provides evaluation support and technical assistance to funded jurisdictions. Prior to joining the CDC, Marissa worked as a Health Educator Consultant with the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Children’s Medical Services (CMS), an entity overseeing the CMS health plan designed to meet the needs of children and youth with special health care needs.Marissa earned her Doctorate in Public Health from Florida A & M University in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is passionate about healthy families and communities. And brings a wealth of knowledge to the advisory board through her maternal and child health background, and her expansive skill sets in evaluation/research, strategic planning, project management, and relationship-building. When she’s not working, Marissa’s favorite pastimes are traveling the world, frequenting the best rooftops and restaurants, attending live music events, exploring the arts and cheering for all Chicago sports teams (although she identifies as a “Georgia Peach” nowadays).
